Proudly rooted in the Haliburton Highlands and serving families throughout Haliburton County, Muskoka, Kawartha Lakes, and surrounding areas, Highland Roots Learning Academy provides personalized academic support that fosters confidence, strengthens core skills, and promotes lasting success.

Tutoring services support elementary and middle school learners in developing strong foundations in literacy, numeracy, and essential learning skills.  For students in Grades 9–12, personalized tutoring provides targeted support in core high-school courses, including English (ENG), Mathematics (MTH1W, MPM, MCR, MHF, MCV), and the Sciences—Biology (SBI), Chemistry (SCH), and Physics (SPH).  Focused instruction deepens understanding of course concepts while strengthening communication, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills necessary for academic success.  Academic Coaching further equips secondary learners with effective strategies for organization, time management, and goal setting, helping them navigate coursework with clarity and skill.

To enhance each learning experience, The Academy integrates AI-assisted tools that adapt to individual needs, track progress, and encourage motivation. These tools enrich instruction by providing meaningful insights and adaptive feedback that keep each learner engaged and progressing with confidence.

Alongside Tutoring and Academic Coaching, the same location is home to The Learning Shelf, a welcoming space created to support students, parents, and educators with high-quality educational resources. The front area features

a curated selection of educational games, books, and learning materials that enhance student growth and offer valuable tools for families and teachers.  Students that struggle with learning deserve every resource available to help them to overcome their barriers to achievement.  Specialized materials geared to the learners' specific needs are crucial in motivating and empowering students of any age.
